Vandals

Who do you let climb
around the inside of
your head at night?
do you let anyone?
or is your head dark
dank and viscous thick
with the anti-vandal paint of
your hatred?

(Anti-) Anti-Nietzsche

There’s now a book out
called Anti-Nietzsche
so I guess even after
over a century
later
woe still says
fade,
go.

Sums not parts

The trouble with groups
is when people think the sum
is greater than the parts
and then act as parts
instead of sums.

Tate

I was in the Tate one time
and there was a woman in there
talking about how human these tiles were
with a real optimism
like if you hadn’t seen the tiles
you would have believed her
but I had seen the tiles and they weren’t
human they were blank and sparse and
they were only human in the same way
rocks and well tiles are human and
her voice was animated but her eyes
were blank and sparse and
although at first I thought she lying
I guess those tiles really did look human.

Criticism and creativity
are two different sides
of the same cat flap.

Cherry lakes

There’s a beauty in being
undisturbed
emotions being ripples
on cherry lakes
yet ripples need not turn
into waves
lie in the middle of it all
afloat on a lilo
in the sticky sun.

Reclaiming The Ego

Stressing a mantra
of my name
to drag my existence
back into the existence
sucking on a straw
above a plughole
to keep the water
in the bath.
